This is the first time I've ever had Popeyes. And I have to be honest I was less than thrilled. The spicy fried chicken was extremely overpriced and the flavor was m e h. I will not ever go back to a Popeyes. If I buy fried chicken at a fast food place I will stick with k f c.
I'm probably not the best person to review Popeyes because I rarely eat fast food. The commercial for the flounder sandwich enticed me. It was OK and may be stellar (nice heat level if you like spicy) but I just can't get myself to rank ff very high. I will say the restaurant was clean and the people friendly.
Worst food ordering experience. Ordered and paid more than two hours before the closing time, but ended up getting no food at all. All we know is they did not even make the food and had nothing for us but kept us waiting until they closed. Such a mean and bad treatment. They could be sued. Customers, just go away from such a bad place. All we ordered was 4pcs Spicy Signature Chicken Large Combo. The manager, a woman I don’t know the name, had our order receipt and told us to wait for more than 35 minutes. We waited and came back but still did not get our food. They (the manager and other servers) told us that they did not make the food and have nothing for us. It was late night and just a disaster experience. The manager was incredibly rude. For other customers, don’t waist your time in this store. Food ordered and paid at 8:56pm on Friday. We were there around 9:10pm and waited until 10pm but nothing made for us. The manager closed the order window rudely without explanations. Very rude people. Will definitely avoid low-rated places in the future. Just a disaster experience.
The manager, and staff were great, the taste of the beans, and rice, biscuits, and chicken strips is amazing! My only concern is that Popeyes as a company has cut the size of the chicken strips to almost 1/2 the size that I was used to in Chicago. The first time I bought them in Colorado, I complained about how small the were. The manager agreed that he has noticed it also, and he doubled the order. They are still smaller and I would love to see them return to full size. I will pay for better size strips.
My husband and I ordered here on their app. We got to the store and the food was not ready, they told us to go around. After waiting 15 minutes they brought us our bag which was intended to feed 8 people, 4 of which were kids. We get home and three of the kids are missing their food. We gave everyone who had food their portions and went back for the rest. The people at Popeye's told my husband he had to bring all the food back in order to get the remaining chicken tenders for the kids, as if you couldn't just take "missing" food out of the bag anyway. My food actually was missing though, and I fed who I could. On top of that, he wouldn't have gone back letting his own food get cold if we didn't have hungry kids! Popeye's in no way took responsibility, argued with him, and left us with three hungry kids. I am furious and writing their corporate office as soon as I finish this review. Awful service. Utterly awful. I love Popeye's chicken, but the service here is not worth it. Not going back again. Edit*-I am adding a photo to show I bought $80 of popeyes, then spent nearly $20 at Raising Cane's to make up for the food I was not given. My kids were so excited to go to Popeye's. Thanks for ruining our night guys.
